I don't know about you, but as I get older, the opportunity to dance becomes less and less, something I loved to do when I was younger. I think painting has become my outlet for dance, especially in these textured pieces, where the marks dance and weave across the surface, and a story emerges that blends this history with the final design. The beauty is in the discovery, the textured surface, and the hidden bits that can only be seen by getting in close and exploring its secrets. My process involves layering paint, collage, paint, and more paint, creating layers and layers with colours, shapes, and designs that are scraped, sanded, scratched and dug into, repainted, revealing and leaving bits of the past, the history of each layer.
So, Let's Take The Time To Dance, set our spirits free, release our worries and inhibitions, and leave the busyness of the day behind.
