MIRIAM TRAHER
Hope - 60x48 Artist Miriam Traher
Description
The anticipation, the belief that dreams do come true!!!
My studio is a disaster, with papers strewn everywhere. Journal notes, to-do lists, dress patterns, newspapers, you name it, are tossed on the floor to be walked on, paint-splattered, note jotted, rusted, spray painted, or a place to clean my brush, a place to practice a mark or circle. These pieces become the foundation of my work. Layered, covered, ripped, and collaged onto the surface, only to be covered with more paint and paper, leaving hints of their story to be seen. A surface rich in visual texture, from which intuition can take centre stage. Hope was created with this abandonment, grabbing spray paint and colours not dared before. I want to share this feeling of curiosity with the viewer to discover and enjoy for themselves, to find their stories hidden within, and to hope and believe anything is possible.
